MEPAP 2nd Edition Section 2 ONLY Registration and Schedule:
Formerly called 90 hour Basic Activity Course and 90 Hour Advance Management Course. Effective Fall 2009 this course will be 180 hours classroom instruction and a required 180 practicum. Most situations, the practicum may be done at your long term care setting.
For all students who have completed secion 1 (90 hour basic activity course) and still need the 180 hours, please contact Alternative Solutions in Long Term Care at 973 729 6601 for instructions.
The MEPAP, 2nd Edition - Is the required course for certification as Activity Director Certified or Activity Assistant Certified by the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals and is the required curriculum. Upon completion of the MEPAP 2nd Edition which is 180 hours of class room instruction and 180 hours practicum at an approved site, the student is eligible to apply for national certification. The MEPAP Second Edition (also called in the past the 90 hour activity course part 1)is approved by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services and meets the requirements as defined in the Standards for Long Term Care Facilities. It follows the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals curriculum guidelines and is applicable toward national certification for activity assistants but both part 1 and part 2 must be completed to apply for ADC nationally. Beginning Fall 2009 MEPAP Second addition will only be taught in one continous course. See www.nccap.org. for details concerning Activity Assistant or Activity Director certification.
For those students coming in for MEPAP 2nd Edition 2nd half, you will not be starting the class on the first day. You will be sent a start date and class schedule for the class that you will be joining. This is part two of the original 90 hour part 1 and 90 hour part 2.
Payment Terms:
$250 deposit is required to hold your seat. Payment in full is expected at the time of registration. For those who have made prior arrangements and are on a payment plan, payment in full is required by the MIDTERM. If payment in full is not paid by the MIDTERM, you will not be able to sit for the MIDTERM and you will not graduate from the class. If you drop out of the class and have not paid in full, payment is still required. Once you register for the class there is cancellation fee of $450.00. Once class begins there are no refunds.
Payment in full is required before the start of the class. Payment may not be made in class.

Confirmation:
Confirmation will be mailed two weeks prior to the start of the class.
Cancellation:
Cancellation by the company Alternative Solutions reserves the right to cancel class due to low attendance or unexpected emergency. If we cancel the class, the refund will be mailed within 6 weeks.
Delay in starting the class:
Alternative Solutions reserves the right to delay class due to low attendance, facility schedule, weather, instructor illness and emergenices or for any other reason outside the control of Alternative Solutions in Long Term Care and the student is not refunded due to the delay in start of class. Students will be notified of delay in writing.
To graduate:
Students will not receive their certificate of completion of the course until all homework and practicum assignments are handed in and have passed the Midterm and Final Exams. Students are not allowed to miss any classes unless it is an emergency. Classes can not be made up. If you feel you can not attend every class due to work conflicts or other reasons, than you might consider another class at another convenient time. Students who are continously late to class may also not graduate because you have not completed the required 180 hour class time.
When referring to NJ DOH regulations for activity director, it refers to completing the 90 hour course. This is the course they are referring to. A certificate of completion will not be awarded to the student until the student has completed the entire 180 hour class room instruction and 180 hour practicum.
